List of New Sinful Behaviors


Maybe because a new survey reveals that fewer Catholics go to confession, the Vatican released  list of new sinful behaviors. Huh?
I find it difficult what to make of this particular act of the Catholic Church. On one hand, it seems logical to declare such things as Drugs, Pollution and genetic manipulation as new sinful behaviors, because after all, those things were not part of the israelite experiences when the ten commandments were given. Otherwise, we probably have something like Thou Shalt Not Puff Marijuana or snort cocaine. Thou shall not throw away SM plastic bags on the streets and riverbanks, or better yet, thou shalt not use plastic at all.

But on the other hand, the redundance (come on, we know for a long time that drug taking is damaging to the body and therefore it is a sin) is a strong reminder.  BUt genetic manipulation? As if majority of the believers are genetic engineers.
